Grammar: We will be working on capitalization this week. Capitalization of words can often be tricky and confusing. A good rule of thumb is that words are capitalized if they are unique persons, places, or things, or if, in a title, they are important. Of course, all sentences begin with a capital letter, as well. Proper nouns and proper adjectives are always capitalized.
Spelling: We will have no spelling words to study this week and no test. Please continue to do the team homework that goes home on Friday.
Reading: We will be working on citing evidence and answers through different forms of text.
Writing: This 9 weeks we will finish up with our informational writing.
Math: We will be focusing on line plots graphs this week. A line plot is a graph that shows frequency of data along a number line. It is best to use a line plot when comparing fewer than 25 numbers. It is a quick, simple way to organize data.
Science: This week will be finishing up Stars. We will learn about the size and the brightness of Stars.
