Our 2018-2019 Awards Day will be held on Wednesday, May 15th.
The K-2nd time is 8:00 am- 8:50 am.
The 3rd-5th time is 9:00 am- 9:50 am.
Parents of students who are being recognized will be notified.
Grammar: We will be working on Cause and Effect this week. Cause and effect is a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or others. This is a combination of action and reaction.
Spelling: The spelling words this week will be au words. You can practice at home by giving your student phrases and sentences to practice. You say the sentence, have the student repeat, then pound their hand for each word they hear as they repeat with you again, then have them write. Check for capital at the beginning of the sentence, stretch the words, space the words, and punctuation at the end. Green Words: haul, maul, auto, fraud, flaunt, fault, daunt, vault, launch, August, audit, autumn, gauze, Paul, Saul, daub Red Words: was, because, said, people
Reading: We will be working on reading poetry using fluency and expression.
Writing: This 9 weeks is going to be a mixture of narrative, informational, and opinion. We will be working on this week our Opinion writing. They will have several topics to chose from.
Math: This week we will continue working on word problems with money. Please practice at home counting money and making change.
Science: We will be learning this week about economics. Our focus will be opportunity cost, goods and services, saving and spending, and scarcity. The students are earning money everyday to spend at Kidtown on May 10th.
